Can't wait. You're doing great work, but do continue to push the envelope. Also, I'm really looking forward to Audiobus integration. I hope that'll be a quick release.

Daaaamn, that's a great sounding update. Can't wait for this!

Has it been submitted to apple yet?

^^^ not yet. From the first post:
We're currently finishing our newest update (2.3.2)
• edited 12:07AM
After introducing streaming, I bought BM2 one more time (previously Apple disabled my account, but it is another story). 2.3.2 will be great addition!

I would like to use occasion to mention really big need of support for multi output interface. At least main stereo + stereo aux output (4 outs) will give the possibility to use external effects together with recording effect output on stereo audio track. I know you know it is important. But I see other improvements that you will introduce at this time, you are geniuses!

New eq! Oh boy! Im excited about that alone and then i can sidechain the compressor... Is this still intua? Hahahaha. Ty for the quick and better update!

If this is true, and "audio sends" actually means *scalable* sends (with volume control), then this is the most amazing update ever.

Can you clarify on the audio sends? Are they actual, REAL aux sends like on a mixing console?

Hi instinctive,

Yes, our sends work just like hardware mixers, you have 4 for each instrument/audio track, and "scalable" as you mentioned. They are routed to the 4 first FX buses.

Stay tuned, we are still integrating the new graphic content but the update will be soon submitted.

Cheers,
Mathieu.

Mathieu, this is the single biggest news since the very creation of this app. Finally, it will be usable for some serious production. (I have never understood why you left out this feature in the first place)

Thank you, can't wait for the update, and I suggest you label it "2.4", because this feature alone deserves a new major version number.

This update should quiet down some of the detractors. FX sends, sidechaining and a better EQ are features that get requested often. It'll be great to have them.

Are there any apps other than Auria that have a 6+ band EQ? I can't think of any.
• edited 12:07AM
Bahahaha

It will be nice to see the new eq, i will finally be able to use them to do limited sound design.
To answer your question, i do not believe there are any other 6 band eqs other than beatmaker, pro q on auria is a 24 band eq though...really not in the same league, but waybetter than that terrible three band eq we are using now that sucks!

Now once they add a brickwall limiter, a nice reverb, and a better delay we will be getting somewhere. In fact throw out all the old effects...replace them with higher quality ones ! Everyone will benefit from this move! After new effects there are very little things to do to this app in my opinion! Resample

Yeah stereo delay would be nice.

BM2 is becoming a really well rounded mobile DAW at this point. Once this update is out and we get Audiobus, BM2 is going to be really top notch.

It's mind boggling just how far behind the big players on the desktop are in the mobile space. FL Studio Mobile is a toy compared to BM2, and companies like Ableton, Avid, Steinberg and Cockos are total no-shows so far.
• edited 12:07AM
Stereo (cross) Delay is still badly needed (the main purpose of delays is really to widen up the stereo image without sounding muddy), and the Compressor really needs some indicators. The reverb is actually pretty nice, much better than NanoStudio's (though for all the other effects, it's the other way 'round )

Very happy about the overall progress though... kudos Intua!

It really wont be long until bm2 is beyond amazing.
I recorded some vocals on the phone just utilizing the iphone's mic while monitoring thru some atm50s...the resulting vocals were amazing for what was used. I try to show this to as many up and coming or lower budget artists as i can, as an idevice and bm2for many is a godsend at a very low entry fee! I am excited that a beatmaking multitrack can fit in a pocket or a small case and be under a pound and a half.

Wow, this I didn't expect! This update seems to solve some of the big issues of BM2 - nice to see you guys working on that!
► Stereo bus recording on audio tracks
I hope "Monitor" on/off (audio configuration page) is now saved in the project!? It's annoing to change always this setting when re-load a project.
► Double-tapping track handles in the sequencer brings instrument/audio track configuration
Pleease, be consequently and implement this "shortcut" also in the mixer page. Otherwise it would feel half-backed and not constant.
► Improve virtual MIDI
Is this also meant to the BM2's MIDI input? Particulary when BM2 is controlled by another sequencer (better clock timing; arrangement/loop start/stop sync; polyphonic notes (external sequenced) are smoothly played)? I REALLY hope BM 2.3.2 is solid in terms of MIDI in!

I'm really curious about the update!

I'd rather have MIDI Out fixed Currently, at least for an iPhone 4, iOS 5.1, Beatmaker + SunrizerXS, MIDI out timing is completely unusable.

Yes, of course BOTH (MIDI In AND Out) is important - let's make a compromise: Intua should fix "MIDI connections"!? ... IF they provide MIDI - it helps nobody if it's not working correctly.

Currently, at least for an iPhone 4, iOS 5.1, Beatmaker + SunrizerXS, MIDI out timing is completely unusable.
Really? I also have an iPod Touch (4G) and BM2 vs SunrizerXS seem to work nicely - though I didn't record it to be sure that both are 100% in sync. Or do you mean clock issues when using Sunrizer's arpeggiator?
• edited 12:07AM
The individual MIDI events arrive at almost random times in Sunrizer XS. If I play a sequence of 16th notes at 120 BPM, I get a random note mashup in Sunrizer XS, individual notes up to 1/8th off the beat. In other words: easily noticable without recording

I'm literally salivating at the thought of this. FINALLY I can just use one program for pretty much everything. Do you have any idea when this should be ready???
• edited 12:07AM
instinctive, that's strange! I assume you already tried killing all apps which are running in background? My iPod Touch 4G should have the same hardware and here it works...

INTUA: One more really important issue in terms of MIDI (at least since BM2 will support Audiobus, I'm sure much more users will complain):
Gloabal MIDI settings (In/Out connections) should be remembered when re-starting BM2! If by default EVERYTHING is set to "On" (and several MIDI apps like synths are running in background) - you will always have funny MIDI-feedback!!
Again: individual On/Off settings should be remembered.

Cheers!
• edited 12:07AM
Yep, tried every possible combination of settings, killing all apps, rebooting after the fact, starting BM / Sunrizer in different orders, etc... no help, MIDI timing still way off... but hey, I'll be getting an iPhone 5 anyway, guess that'll fix it for good

This update keeps looking better and better.
► Time-stretch and pitch-shift quality/settings have been improved

Thank you for this. I've had to do any pitch-shifting and time-stretching I do in Hokusai because BM2's current algorithm creates too much side effects compared to Hokusai's DIRAC.

Intua- will the sends be midi assignable?
• edited 12:07AM
Someone else already said this .. Propz to you, assignable x/ y pads, thats killer
• edited 12:07AM
Tried it with lemur... Very cool
• edited 12:07AM
Hi,

Yes, the 4 sends can be controlled by MIDI CC's.
By default, we bind them to CC 91 through 94.

We'll submit the update in a few days.
Stay tuned!

Cheers.

Hi Intua,

would you mind to make the pitch (tune semitone) in the drum machine's pads also MIDI controlable - or do I miss something?

Finding the right tune for a sound/pad is something what I'm (and I assume others too) using very often, so MIDI control for tune semitones would be very heplful.

Thanks
